Alongside Black History Month, a community of cosplayers have created the hashtag #29DaysOfBlackCosplay to highlight cosplay diversity.
Chaka Cumberbatch, a cosplayer and advocate for diversity in the geek community, told IGN, “This is about lifting each other up instead of waiting for anyone to do it for us. It’s about giving light to black cosplayers of all ages, shapes, skill levels and sizes. It’s about making this community a little more welcoming than it was when we came into it. And most of all – it’s about positivity. Many (if not all) of the cosplayers taking part in the campaign this month have had negative experiences while cosplaying due to our race. This is us taking those lemons and making about a gallon of lemonade.”

Struggling smartphone maker BlackBerry suffered another blow on Monday as megapopular messaging service WhatsApp announced that it would no longer offer support for any BlackBerry platform after the end of this year.
The purge includes BlackBerry 10, the latest version of the company’s flagship operating system. BlackBerry 10 built atop the QNX realtime platform was released just three years ago, but failed to boost flagging sales.

The liabilities that led Foxconn Apple’s main manufacturing partner to delay its planned takeover of Sharp actually consisted of a study of worst-case risks, a report said on Monday.
That study was, moreover, unchecked, a source elaborated to Reuters. On Friday, the newswire agency said that Foxconn and Sharp postponed a talks deadline by one to two weeks because of undisclosed liabilities of about 300 billion yen, or $2.7 billion.
